In addition, occasionally I will post material by other bands, related or otherwise, that mean a lot to me. As well as live gigs, I will post demos, radio interviews and anything else that I feel may be of interest. Needless to say, this site will steer well clear of any officially released material. By selecting the higher quality recordings I hope to present The Stranglers in the best possible light for the benefit of those less familiar with their material than the hardcore fan. Whilst all of the various members of the band that have passed through the ranks since 1974 are accomplished studio musicians, it is on stage where the band have for me had their biggest impact.Īs a collector of their live recordings for many years I want to share some of the better quality material with other fans. I just didn't like him screwing up my achievement hunting.Welcome to Aural Sculptors, a blog aimed at bringing the music of The Stranglers to as wide an audience as possible. I will admit that he did perform admirably, though. I'll play a different mission route and make sure I am NOT rewarded with an advent ally. Luckily I am not in Iron Man and can pick up a previous save to try again. Perhaps if I had let him get killed, I would have gotten the credit? I did leave him as the last soldier to see if the mission would complete with only my five, but I also had to extract him to complete the mission and I didn't get to keep the loot he had despite him evacuating with me. I wanted to see if it would work, so I sent him to get it. I knew going into it, that it might be an issue and my concern was confirmed after completing the mission and not seeing the achievement pop.Īlso, I didn't get to keep the loot the stun lancer picked up for me. I believe it was the stun lancer that cost me the achievement, too. I completed the mission with no one dying or seriously injured (even after awakening the Viper King), but I didn't get the achievement. It was actually the first time I had ever gotten this particular bonus and wasn't even aware of getting it until the 2nd round when I finally noticed I had a lancer under my control! I took 5 tired soldiers into battle (I didn't have a sixth), but I was also given a stun lancer as a resistance bonus to assist me in that particular mission. I see it's been a few months since anyone has responded (sorry to dig it back up), but I thought it was worth mentioning that I just had the same issue. especially near the end game where rookies just simply don't cut it I personally feel that they are more trouble than they are worth.

but it would screw you over if you are trying for the Untouchable achievement (Beat the game on Commander+ without losing a soldier) There is a reason why I don't play the tutorial mission (but i already unlocked this in Vanilla Xcom2). Third, they are also easy mind control targets, which may or may not be a good thing (in a way it does waste the sectoid/priest's turn, but it means I have to go out of my way to hunt the sectoid down before the extra rookie does something stupid).įourth, I am not sure if they appears on the memorial wall when they die. which makes them missing a point blank shot even more frustrating when they score a hit on their own teammates. Second, they panic when one alien takes a sneeze near them. (since they seem to always spawn with Tier 1 armour, but for some reason they are equiped with the best weapons you've unlocked) Well, first they make easy crysallid food.
